Somatic Therapy
What is somatic therapy?
Somatic therapy is a powerful, body-based approach to healing that supports individuals seeking a deeper connection with themselves. Somatic therapy helps clients process trauma and stress and safely connect to felt emotions through awareness of the body and physical sensations. It is a holistic approach and integrates mind, body, and spirit to regulate the nervous system, release stored trauma, and restore a felt sense of safety and connection to oneself and others.

My approach to somatic therapy
Trauma-Informed & Trained
I am trained in a trauma healing modality called somatic experiencing (SE). Working somatically requires trust, informed consent, client autonomy, and collaboration between therapist and client.
Body-Based
Somatic therapy means that we work with the body. We take time to establish a safe connection with body and self. We notice, we release, we regulate, we build capacity to be in our bodies without the need to dissociate or escape.
Integrated
Somatic therapy is not just about being present with the body, it’s about incorporating the body into holistic therapy work. Somatic therapy can incorporate talk therapy and other healing modalities. Somatic therapy happens within the context of a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship.
